Senior Procurement Manager | Leeds Based | Construction | Data Centre | Professional Services

Here at Hays we are recruiting for a Procurement Manager to join a construction consultancy based in Leeds to join the company as they go through expansion and change. This is a permanent position that requires 5 days a week on site in Leeds. You will be overseeing the strategic procurement and supply chain management functions, ensuring efficient and effective acquisition of goods and services for major Data Centre clients. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

This role will be pivotal in the successful delivery of supplier onboarding, procurement planning, RFT management, supplier relationship management, contract administration and delivery of goods and services at a project, programme, and portfolio level for our clients. Initially, the focus of this role will be within the Datacentre, which could involve working with several clients across multiple projects at a time.

Key responsibilities for this role:
  • Prepare regular supply chain reports, advising on decisions and obtaining authorisations.
  • Deliver tender processes, procedures and protocols to clients based on existing workflow guidelines and client requirements.
  • Manage day to day procurement and tendering activities on a project, programme and portfolio level depending on the nature of the project work.
  • Oversee weekly progress and dashboard reporting, documenting risks, challenges, opportunities, and milestones.
  • Advise on identifying and establishing work categories and packages related to project delivery requirements and project procurement strategy.
  • Conduct spend and market analysis, identifying cost-saving opportunities and capacity checks on suitability of supplier engagement.
  • Evaluate potential suppliers based on client criteria and manage the supplier selection process.
  • Support the formal onboarding of suppliers through Master Purchase Agreements.
  • Collaborate with project and client cost teams to track procurement baseline budgets and delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define RFP scope, requirements, and evaluation criteria.
  • Distribute RFP packs to pre-qualified suppliers and oversee the submission process.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals and support contract negotiations up to and including agreement and contract execution.
Experience and qualifications for the role:
  • Experience within the construction industry is essential.
  • Proven track record in Procurement and preferred experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience working across Data Centre projects or other high-value, complex schemes would be preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, management, and team alignment skills.
  • Knowledge of data centre procurement, contract agreements, and product/service knowledge.
