Contracts Manager role, permanent position, regional main contractor , Yorkshire Region

Your new company

Our client is a respected regional main contractor with a strong pipeline of work across the commercial, education, industrial and public-sector markets. Known for delivering high‑quality schemes and maintaining long-term client relationships, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects across the Yorkshire region.

Your new role

As Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for leading several live schemes valued between £5m and £15m, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards. Working closely with Site Teams, Commercial Staff, Directors and Clients, you will provide leadership, strategic oversight, and effective decision‑making across each project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the delivery of multiple construction projects simultaneously.
  • Manage site teams, ensuring adherence to programme, quality and safety standards.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to Project Managers and Site Managers.
  • Hold regular progress meetings with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within budget and contractual obligations.
  • Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure KPIs are achieved.
  • Support pre‑construction teams with buildability input and programme planning.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and represent the business professionally onsite.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager with a main contractor.
  • Background delivering projects from £5m–£15m (or larger).
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of contractual requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Able to manage multiple schemes and prioritise effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence.
