A leading company in renewable energy and waste services is looking for a Contract Manager

Your new company

You will be joining a well‑established organisation operating major Energy Recovery Facilities, including two key sites in North Oxfordshire and Slough. The company is strongly committed to operational excellence, environmental responsibility and high safety standards. Its culture is built around clear values that promote collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

Your new role

In this role as Contracts Manager, you will oversee all fuel supply contracts connected to the sites facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all contractual, legal and compliance obligations are delivered effectively while maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers and operational teams. You will monitor contract performance, assess results, identify improvements and create action plans designed to enhance commercial outcomes and operational efficiency. This includes managing fuel volumes and quality, ensuring site rules are followed, and supporting the operational teams’ requirements.

You will act as the main contractual point of contact for Local Authorities, Commercial & Industrial customers and merchant suppliers. Your responsibilities will extend to maintaining contractual documentation, updating the contract risk register, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company procedures, and developing contingency strategies for planned and unplanned outages. You will also work closely with senior management, supporting and deputising for the Head of Contracts, and providing strategic and day‑to‑day assistance to other Contract Managers when needed.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this position, you will need significant experience in contract management, particularly in handling complex agreements, performance frameworks and commercial negotiations. A strong understanding of financial processes is essential, including budgeting, forecasting, profit and loss management and both capex and opex planning. You should be an effective communicator, able to build strong relationships at all levels and present information with clarity and persuasion. Strong organisational skills, an analytical mindset and the ability to balance multiple priorities under pressure will be crucial.

You will need strong written, numerical and IT capabilities, with proficiency in Microsoft software. Experience within waste management or environmental services is beneficial, as is familiarity with industry legislation, weighbridge systems and the development of new systems or procedures. A full UK driving licence is mandatory.

What you'll get in return

You will be offered a salary between £45,000 - £50,000 + £6.5k car allowance alongside a benefits package. You will also be joining an organisation that places significant value on safety, performance and professional development. You will take on a role with real influence, working closely with senior leaders and site teams to support the successful operation of two major facilities. You will have the opportunity to shape contract performance, contribute to strategic planning and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The working environment is supportive and values‑led, offering the chance to grow professionally while contributing to essential, sustainability‑focused operations
