Graduate Building Surveyor, Edinburgh, £30k-£35k (DOE)

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Our client is a global independent construction, property and management consultancy which is employee-owned. Hays are delighted to offer this Graduate Building Surveying role, which offers a dynamic work environment with a strong focus on professional development and a chance to work on a variety of projects and sectors.

Your New Role:
As a Graduate Building Surveyor, you will support both the Senior Building Surveyors. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Undertaking a wide range of Building Surveying services under supervision, including:
    • Serving and negotiating dilapidations
    • Conducting schedules of condition and condition surveys
    • Performing pre-acquisition surveys and fire insurance/reinstatement valuations
    • Conducting feasibility studies and handling landlord consents
  • Preparing and drafting professional reports outlining proposals and results
  • Assisting with procurement, delivery, and contract administration of projects
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to support decision-making processes
  • Implementing Policies, Strategies, and Standards for Development and Disposal opportunities
  • Ensuring property information is accurately gathered and maintained
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of a robust Asset Management Rating system and Asset Management Plan
  • Adhering to Health and Safety and risk management procedures

What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • A degree in Building Surveying or a related field
  • A team player with the desire to work collaboratively and independently
  • Ambition to work towards MRICS designation
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
