NIHE, Dungannon office, Technical Officer - maintenance work inspection, up to £33,800 per annum

Your new company

The services of Hays have been retained by our client, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) to recruit a Technical Officer. Based from their regional office in Dungannon covering their properties in the Mid Ulster area, you will form part of the Housing Services team providing a technical advisory and management service on property maintenance. This organisation has more than 85,000 properties and employs 3,000 members of staff throughout NI.

Your new role

This is a temporary contract assignment for an initial 6 month period with the likelihood of the post being opened for permanent appointment.
Reporting to the Area Manager, you will be involved in maintenance inspections and will be required to ensure that maintenance repairs to Housing Executive homes are carried out to exacting cost, quality and time standards in accordance with the terms of contracts.

What you'll need to succeed

To be eligible for consideration, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- A degree in Building Studies (or equivalent) with 1 year relevant experience.
- BTEC Higher Diploma in Building Studies (or equivalent) with 2 years relevant experience
- A minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
Relevant experience will be considered as working on the design, improvement or maintenance of domestic properties.

What you'll get in return

Salary range, £23,800 - £33,800.
You will get the opportunity to work for a large housing body on an ongoing temporary contract. This position offers an immediate start with weekly payment via BACS transfer with all business mileage expenses being reimbursed at 45p per mile. The role allows for an excellent work-life balance with the working hours amounting to 37 per week, along with an annual holiday entitlement of 35 days, inclusive of stats.
