Your new company

A well known international bank is looking for a regulatory compliance professional for a 6-month fixed-term contract. The bank caters to a diverse clientele, offering a range of banking services including retail, private, and corporate banking.

Your new role

In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring the Bank’s adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Risk Assessments: Conducting thorough compliance risk assessments to identify potential areas of concern.
  2. Oversight: Providing second-line oversight of compliance activities across the organisation.
  3. Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP): Developing and implementing a robust CMP to monitor compliance efforts effectively.
  4. Review Reports: Issuing comprehensive compliance review reports to senior management, Heads of Departments (HoDs), and Business Managers (BMs).
  5. Governance Committees: Reporting key findings from compliance reviews to relevant governance committees.
  6. Action Tracking: Diligently tracking and following up on the implementation of recommended actions resulting from compliance reviews.
  7. Regulatory Communications: Assisting the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and Compliance Managers (CMs) in managing regulatory communications.

What you'll need to succeed

As a Compliance Officer, you’ll need to demonstrate the ability to conduct thorough compliance risk assessments, provide second-line oversight of compliance activities, and develop effective Compliance Monitoring Programs (CMPs). Strong reporting skills are essential for issuing comprehensive compliance review reports. Familiarity with legal and regulatory obligations, attention to detail, and collaboration with stakeholders will contribute significantly to maintaining our compliance framework. Additionally, experience in reviewing and updating policies and procedures related to business and support functions is crucial.
