We’re supporting a values-led children’s charity to recruit a Compliance & Governance Manager into a newly created role.
This organisation does genuinely meaningful work, supporting young people, and they’re looking for someone who can help ensure their governance, risk and compliance approach is as strong as the services they deliver.
This is a brilliant opportunity to shape how compliance is embedded across an organisation, rather than just maintaining what’s already there.
The Role
You’ll take the lead on all things compliance, governance and risk, working closely with senior leaders to build a proactive, preventative approach across the charity.
This isn’t just about policies – it’s about embedding a culture of accountability, awareness and doing the right thing.
You’ll be the go-to for:
- Governance and compliance frameworks
- Data protection and breach response
- Risk identification and mitigation
- Supporting teams with clear, practical guidance
What You’ll Be Doing
- Embedding a joined-up compliance and governance approach across the organisation
- Supporting teams to understand risk and prevent issues before they arise
- Leading on data protection, including breaches, SARs and GDPR compliance
- Driving standards and certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 27001, PCI DSS)
- Supporting business continuity and organisational resilience
- Overseeing complaints processes and continuous improvement
- Building strong relationships internally and acting as a trusted advisor
What They’re Looking For
- Experience in compliance, governance or data protection
- Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR
- Experience managing or supporting data breaches and investigations
- Understanding of risk, controls and assurance frameworks
- Exposure to standards such as ISO / information security frameworks
- Ability to influence, guide and support non-specialists
Ideally, you’ll also bring:
- A relevant qualification (e.g. CIPP/E, GDPR Practitioner)
- Experience in a charity or public sector environment
Why Apply?
This is a chance to step into a newly created role where you’ll genuinely influence how governance, compliance and risk are embedded across a values‑driven children’s charity.
You’ll be trusted to shape frameworks, improve ways of working, and support teams to get things right — all while working flexibly and being backed by a supportive leadership team.Alongside meaningful work, you’ll benefit from:
- Annual salary of £39,000 - £42,500 DOE
- 26 days annual leave, increasing to 30 days, plus bank holidays
- Occupational sick pay and enhanced family‑friendly leave
- Flexible, home‑based working with occasional travel
- Learning and development opportunities, with regular support and supervision
- Employee Assistance Programme and access to a health cash plan
- Group stakeholder pension scheme
- Cycle to work scheme
If you’re looking for a role where your expertise is valued, your development is supported, and your work genuinely makes a difference to children and young people — this is one worth exploring.
