Join Corrymeela as Communications Manager on an 18‑month fixed‑term contract.

Your new company

Hays are delighted to be working in partnership with Corrymeela to recruit a Communications Manager. Corrymeela is a peace and reconciliation organisation that welcomes thousands of visitors annually to explore difference and discover new ways of living well together. This respected community organisation draws on a rich heritage of bringing people from diverse backgrounds together, fostering respectful relationships and contributing towards a more cohesive society. With an ambitious strategic plan for 2025-2028, this is an exciting time to join Corrymeela and make a real difference in our increasingly divided world.

Your new role

As Communications Manager, you'll lead the ongoing management and evolution of communications to reflect and promote Corrymeela's vision and activities. This is an 18-month fixed-term position offering genuine variety and the opportunity to make your mark. You'll develop and deliver a comprehensive communications strategy, lead the project management for a new website, and work closely with the Fundraising Manager to create compelling campaigns and products for supporters. Your role will involve identifying stories and themes to share across multiple channels, creating engaging content for online, print and media platforms, and significantly growing Corrymeela's social media presence. You'll ensure all communications comply with legal and best practice guidelines whilst maximising Corrymeela's message and revenue streams.

What you'll need to succeed

You'll need either a relevant third-level qualification with three years' paid experience developing and delivering successful communication strategies, or five years' paid experience in a similar role. Significant experience with social media software, graphic design tools (Canva/Illustrator or similar), web content management and SEO knowledge is essential, alongside proficiency in Microsoft products. You must demonstrate strong skills in creating social media content that grows digital followers, and possess a proven track record in producing compelling content and imagery for both print and online media. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, demonstrable project management abilities, and the capacity to identify and communicate with diverse audiences are crucial. A current full UK driving licence and access to a car is required. Desirable criteria include charity sector experience and the ability to design, create and edit short films for social media.

What you'll get in return

This role offers a salary of £33,404 per annum for 37.5 hours per week, with the flexibility that suits modern working life. You'll benefit from a split base between Corrymeela's stunning coastal Centre in Ballycastle and the Belfast office, with hybrid working including two days from home (dependent on needs). Corrymeela offers a comprehensive pension scheme and the opportunity to work with a passionate team of staff, volunteers and members from diverse backgrounds and faith traditions. Most importantly, you'll have the chance to contribute meaningfully to building a more hope-filled society, working for an organisation that truly makes a difference in people's lives. This 18-month fixed-term contract provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills whilst delivering impactful work in the peace and reconciliation sector.
