I am working with a prominent public sector organisation to recruit a strategic and bilingual Communications Manager to lead a high-performing communications team and deliver impactful, bilingual engagement across Wales.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior communications professional to shape public messaging, manage crisis communications, and lead a team delivering essential services to the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all communications activities.
- Develop and implement a national communications strategy aligned with public policy priorities.
- Oversee digital platforms, including websites and social media channels.
- Lead a team of 8 communications professionals, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Act as the primary liaison between internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Manage crisis communications and serve as lead spokesperson during major incidents.
- Collaborate with regional and national partners to ensure consistent, bilingual messaging.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in public service communications.
✅ What I'm Looking For
- Degree or equivalent in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Fluent in Welsh and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience in a senior communications role, ideally within the public or third sector.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing multi-site operations.
- Confident in crisis communication, stakeholder engagement, and media relations.
- Able to travel regularly across Wales to maintain strong regional relationships.
