Cloud DevOps Engineer
Your new company
Step into a forward-thinking organisation at the forefront of digital transformation. With a newly launched Technology, Digital and Data strategy, this values-led public sector organisation is building a modern, event-driven cloud ecosystem from the ground up. The mission? To deliver seamless, secure, and scalable digital services that make a real difference in people’s lives. With a greenfield tech environment and a strong commitment to professional development, this is a place where innovation meets purpose.
Your new role
As Cloud DevOps Engineer, you’ll play a central role in shaping the organisation’s cloud and DevOps capabilities. You’ll design and implement scalable infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using Microsoft Azure, ensuring high performance, security, and cost-efficiency. Working closely with both infrastructure and software development teams, you’ll help build a robust foundation for modern digital services.
This is a hands-on role with strategic impact. You’ll refine DevOps practices, automate deployments, and support the delivery of event-driven applications. You’ll also contribute to FinOps activities, helping manage cloud expenditure while mentoring colleagues and promoting best practices across the organisation.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure services (Functions, APIM, Event Hub, SQL, Data Lake)
- Solid understanding of CI/CD methodologies and automated deployment practices
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell or Python)
- Knowledge of cloud security and FinOps principles
- Familiarity with git and gitflow version control
- Experience in agile delivery environments (Scrum or Kanban)
- Proven track record managing Azure infrastructure and building automated pipelines
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Bonus if you have:
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and containerisation tools (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of GraphQL, microservices, and change management principles
- Exposure to Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jira for pipeline automation
What you'll get in return
In return, you’ll benefit from a hybrid working model, 25 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays), with an additional day added for each year of service up to a maximum of 30 days. You’ll also have the option to purchase extra leave, along with access to healthcare plans, pension contributions, and a range of other benefits.
