Hays are looking for a Category D qualified bus driver to join a transport department in Edinburgh.
Your new company
You will be joining an existing driver pool as a bus driver for a large department in Edinburgh. Due to an increase in routes and a shortage of drivers, you will be working full-time hours with adequate downtime at the depot.
Your new role
You will be required to undertake the duties below:
- Drive a 22-seat bus to transport individuals to and from care facilities, appointments, and community activities.
- Provide physical assistance to those with mobility challenges, including operating lifts or ramps.
- Secure wheelchairs, fasten seatbelts, and monitor passenger well-being throughout the journey
- Adhere to planned routes and maintain punctuality for pickups and drop-offs.
- Keep the vehicle clean and sanitised, especially high-touch areas, to ensure a safe environment.
- 40.5 hours per week
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be a qualified category D bus driver with zero/minimal points and endorsements on your licence and ideally with experience working in a social care environment. We will need you to be at the depot for an early start each day, with plenty of on-site parking for your own transport.
What you'll get in return
You will be offered a long-term contract with one of the largest employers in Edinburgh. Hays will pay you weekly PAYE with the option of accrued annual leave. You will be required to complete a PVG Scotland Check which Hays will complete on your behalf.
