Your new role

As a Site Agent, you will take responsibility for the on-site operational management of a major highway and civil engineering scheme, supporting the Project Manager to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing day-to-day construction operations on site

• Supporting the Project Manager with operational planning and delivery

• Ensuring SHEQ standards and safe systems of work are maintained at all times

• Interpreting design information and implementing works in line with specifications

• Managing and directing sub agents, subcontractors, labour and plant

• Developing construction programmes, phasing plans and method statements

• Ensuring activity plans, permits and method statements are in place prior to works commencing

• Liaising with stakeholders and acting as a key point of contact for site‑related queries

• Working closely with the commercial team on cost reporting and compensation events

• Coordinating procurement of materials and efficient use of resources

• Maintaining accurate site records, including diaries, quality documentation and as‑built information

What you'll need to succeed

• A Civil Engineering qualification or equivalent

• Valid CSCS card

• SMSTS certification

• Full UK or EEC driving licence

• Proven experience managing civil engineering or highways works on site

• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance within construction

• Ability to manage programmes, resources and subcontractors effectively
