Permanent - Senior/Section Engineer - Civils - Suffolk

Your new company

A leading Civil Engineering contractor based in Suffolk, but operating throughout the UK. They deliver high-quality civil engineering projects in various sectors including highways, bridges, infrastructure, flood defence, energy, and rail.

Your new role

Due to winning a major contract on one of the largest civil Infrastructure projects in the UK, a leading tier 1 contractor is looking to expand their team of engineers. Working in a collaborative team you will contribute to one of the Uk's largest and most important Civil Projects.

Coordinate with site management to ensure timely and accurate completion of quality take-offs in line with project requirements.
Oversee setting-out activities and manage the implementation of sectional service plans and drawings, ensuring permits are issued appropriately.
Conduct inspections and testing to confirm that all works meet design specifications and quality standards.
Prepare and review risk assessments and method statements, ensuring all control measures are clearly communicated and implemented on site.
Monitor site operations to ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company procedures.
Identify and escalate potential commercial risks or opportunities to the project team to support proactive decision-making.

Manage the preparation and submission of as-built documentation for your section, contributing to the final site health and safety file.

What you'll need to succeed

Due to the sensitivity of the project, you must work closely with your team of Agents and Project Managers to deliver on key project goals. Therefore, solid communication and ability to work closely with your colleagues is essential.

Extensive setting out experience on infrastructure projects, particularly highways, roads, and earthworks.
Proficient in using Leica or Geomax surveying equipment.
Skilled in transferring data from AutoCAD to surveying instruments.
Strong understanding of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and the quality assurance process.
Demonstrates effective leadership and a solid grasp of modern construction practices.
