Your new company
Are you passionate about helping people rebuild their lives and move towards independence? We’re looking for a dedicated Support Worker to join a well‑established charity supporting vulnerable adults within the criminal justice pathway.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll make a genuine difference every day.
Your new role
As a Support Worker, you’ll provide tailored, person‑centred support to individuals with complex needs who are involved with criminal justice services. You’ll help clients maintain their accommodation, access essential services, and take positive steps towards stability.
Your work will involve:
- Managing referrals, completing needs and risk assessments, and developing personalised support plans.
- Working closely with partners such as Probation, Police, and other support agencies.
- Supporting clients with practical tasks including benefit claims, budgeting, and understanding their rights and responsibilities.
- Ensuring accommodation meets health and safety standards.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to reporting requirements.
- Participating in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota.
- Travelling frequently across Yeovil and Taunton.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experienced in supporting vulnerable adults and/or individuals with complex or challenging behaviours.
- Able to build strong, professional relationships with clients and partner agencies.
- Empathetic, resilient, and confident working in a dynamic environment.
- A problem‑solver with strong communication and organisational skills.
- In possession of a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (business insurance required).
What you'll get in return
You’ll be joining a supportive, inclusive organisation that genuinely values its staff. Benefits include:
- 27 days annual leave (plus birthday leave and bank holidays), rising with service.
- Employee Assistance Programme and Health Cash Plan.
- Generous pension scheme.
- Blue Light Card eligibility.
- Regular supervision, ongoing training, and strong career development opportunities.
- A workplace committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds and those with lived experience.
