Housing Officer (Supported - Social Housing) Temp to Perm Opportunity

We’re currently recruiting for a Housing Officer on a temp to perm basis in the Wirral, on behalf of our social housing client who provide supported living services for vulnerable adults aged 18 and over.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid tenancy management experience and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality housing services within a supported living setting. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with 1–2 days based from home and the remainder spent out in the community, visiting properties, engaging with tenants, and liaising with care providers.

Due to the nature of the role, a full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle, and valid business insurance are essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver intensive housing and tenancy management services across your property portfolio, including voids, lettings, arrears and tenancy breaches

  • Complete tenancy sign-ups and associated paperwork, including Housing Benefit claims

  • Chase rent debt, recharge maintenance and service charge arrears, offering tenancy sustainment support and signposting to external agencies

  • Conduct regular health & safety inspections and work with the compliance team to ensure checks (e.g. gas, legionella) are completed and certified

  • Identify and report repairs, facilitate contractor access, and coordinate maintenance works

  • Ensure safeguarding incidents are appropriately recorded, reported and responded to

  • Participate in multi-agency stakeholder meetings

What you'll need to succeed

  • Tenancy management experience and knowledge of housing law and welfare benefits

  • Experience working with vulnerable individuals, including those with addiction and/or mental health challenges

  • Full UK driving licence, access to own vehicle, and business insurance

  • Enhanced DBS (Preferably on the update system)
