Hays Specialist Recruitment is actively recruiting for Adult Support Workers in Norwich (East Anglia) to work with adults and the elderly.

Rate: £12 - £15 per hour
Shifts: Weekdays, Nights, Weekend.

We offer free online training to upskills workers, as well as bespoke training packages centred to cater our specific services focused on supporting adults with learning disabilities.

Your New Role

  • Providing essential support to adults with pre-existing conditions such as Alzheimer’s dementia, within residential homes.
  • Creating a safe and nurturing environment to foster their independence and personal growth.
  • Engaging in diverse day-to-day activities tailored to their unique needs and interests.
  • Assisting with household tasks like cooking and cleaning.
  • Supporting in medication management.
  • Building trust and responsibility to accompany them to appointments and activities.
What you'll need to succeed

  • Preferred Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a care setting supporting adults with learning disabilities, and at least one year within the UK. Your chances of success and placement with our clients will increase based on your background experience.
  • Ideal Qualifications: Qualifications such as an NVQ L3/2 in Health and Social Care or relevant qualifications in supporting adults with learning disabilities are ideal. (Note: Some homes may require or prioritise candidates with specific qualifications, such as NVQ LVL 3. Mandatory training evidence will be requested, and any required modules will be assigned through our online training platform.)
  • Flexibility: We're seeking workers who are as flexible as possible in picking up shifts. We understand your individual needs, such as work, education, and family commitments, and will strive to accommodate them. (Note: Flexibility and full-time availability will be prioritised.)
  • Resilience: This role can be challenging, so a strong will, perseverance, and patience are essential when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Effective Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary. You'll be responsible for writing in logbooks and potentially preparing reports.
