Housing Officer (Neighbourhoods - Social Housing) MAT cover until May 2026
We have an exciting opportunity for a Neighbourhood Housing Officer to join a well-established housing provider on a long-term temporary contract covering maternity leave until May 2026. This role offers hybrid working and the chance to make a real difference in the community.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact for customers, stakeholders, and colleagues within your patch, ensuring high levels of tenant satisfaction.
- Undertake visits including viewings, audits, inspections, tenancy reviews, and attend evictions where necessary.
- Manage tenancy issues such as abandoned dwellings, relationship breakdowns, assignments, unauthorised occupation, tenancy fraud, and failures to allow access.
- Identify customers at risk of tenancy failure, assess needs, and implement interventions or signpost to external agencies.
- Triage ASB and hate crime cases, actively manage your own caseload, and prepare and serve notices where required.
- Carry out estate inspections and liaise with development teams to support community improvements.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in a customer-facing tenancy management role within social housing
- Experience managing low-level ASB and tenancy breaches.
- Strong understanding of housing legislation, welfare reform, and safeguarding procedures.
- Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle and valid business insurance.
