Teaching Assistant needed Wakefield!

Hays Education are working exclusively with a successful and welcoming primary Academy promoting high standards in Wakefield. At this successful school their children come first. This Academy is a place where everyone is valued. Pupils and adults are welcoming to all and together they make the school a warm and friendly place to be!
A career working to support children in schools can be very rewarding and there is a growing need across the city for passionate, dedicated and resilient individuals to work in Primary and Secondary schools supporting pupils with special educational needs.

SEN Teaching assistant jobs often involve working on a one to one or small group basis supporting the pupils with their learning both in the full class environment and out of class. The work will be planned by the class teacher and your role will be to guide and support your learner in achieving the tasks set.

You will need a kind and caring personality with patience and the ability to engage and keep the pupil on task throughout the day. This may also involve having breakout sessions with them tailored to their interests or ensuring they get regular breaks outside but getting to know the child or children you are working with is very important.
In return you’ll build wonderful relationships with the pupils and thrive on seeing them achieve new things, however big or small! A truly rewarding job knowing you are impacting their development daily.

Benefits of working in an SEN Teaching Assistant job:
  • Highly rewarding work.
  • Monday-Friday: 8.30-3.30 consistent work.

  • School holidays off work so fits well with family commitments.
  • Many schools look to develop staff within so could be a good stepping stone to a career as a Teacher.
  • Temporary and permanent roles available.
  • Many temporary roles often become permanent for the right candidates.

We are looking to appoint experienced SEN TA’s but we are also happy to speak to candidates who
