Social Work - Advanced Practitioner jobs(x5) Children's – Coventry City Council £33.33ph

Your new company

Coventry City Council is seeking five experienced Advanced Practitioners to join our West Social Worker Caseholding Team. This plays a vital role supporting children and families across a range of statutory interventions including:
  • Children in Need (CIN)
  • Child Protection Plans (CP)
  • Looked After Children (LAC)
  • Section 20 accommodation
  • Pre-proceedings and care proceedings

Your new role

You’ll be delivering high-quality social work services in line with legislative requirements and the Social Work England Code of Practice, working collaboratively with families and multi-agency partners to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.

  • Manage complex caseloads involving CIN, CP, LAC, and court work
  • Lead and contribute to multi-agency planning and review meetings
  • Undertake direct work with children and families using solution-focused approaches
  • Prepare high-quality reports for conferences, courts, and panels
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records
  • Support exploitation and missing functions, including return home interviews
  • Work flexibly, including outside office hours when required

What you'll need to succeed

  • In-depth understanding of children’s legislation and statutory guidance
  • Experience in child protection, looked after children, and court proceedings
  • Familiarity with assessment and intervention models
  • Knowledge of equal opportunities and diversity in practice
  • Ability to incorporate research and theory into practice
Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and direct work with children
  • Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice
  • Confident in using professional authority appropriately
  • Ability to work autonomously and seek supervision when needed
