Waking Nights Support Officer for Children and Young People within a Residential Service (EBD - Mental Health)

Your New Role
As a Residential Childcare Officer, you will work under the guidance of the Manager and Deputy Manager to provide direct care to young people aged 6-18. You will be responsible for ensuring the home meets its standards and expectations, safeguarding the welfare of the children, and contributing to their personal development and well-being. Your duties will include keyworker responsibilities, household maintenance, supporting educational plans, and participating in recreational activities.

What You Will Need to Succeed
  • Qualifications: Registration with Social Care Wales and a clear Disclosure and Barring Service check.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of statutory and procedural frameworks, excellent communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, along with the ability to handle administrative tasks and use IT systems effectively.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and undertake sleeping-in duties as required.
