Are you an experienced Procurement Professional, looking for a new role within a supportive organisation?

I am delighted to be supporting a North East organisation on the appointment of a Category Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

This role, which will be leading on the service side of the procurement team and will involve the management of indirect procurement categories, as well as supporting the development of the procurement strategy. You will drive the procurement strategy and lead all procurement activities for that category with support from an Assistant Category Manager.

As an experienced procurement professional, you will develop category strategies to lead on cost savings. You will develop and implement cost reduction strategies and carry out research and analyse trends inline with the category spend requirements from the wider organisation, and you will work to develop stakeholder relationships both internally and externally. You will have a proven track record in negotiating contracts and understand developing supplier relationships and have CIPS qualification (ideally Level 6).
