Site Assistant required for a public sector education organisation based in Macclesfield.
Your new company
Your new job role is working is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and professional Estates team as a Site Assistant with responsibility as a key holder. You will be working within a small friendly estates team for a further education establishment based within the Macclesfield area.
Your new role
Carrying out planned maintenance and repair work on College grounds and buildings.
To be responsible for ensuring that site management, safety and security is maintained at all times.
To carry out car park attending on open and closing hours of the building.
What you'll need to succeed
Full UK Driving License
- Experience of basic maintenance and general repair work along with manual handling techniques is essential.
- Industry experience in a relevant trade would be advantageous
Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS
Referencing covering the past 5 years
Worked within public sector organisation (preferred)
Shift work and some evening work is required, alongside occasional weekends
With a ‘flexible can do’ approach to your work, you will have good communication and interpersonal skills
Be an excellent team player as well as have the ability to work under pressure using your own initiative when responding to the Estate department's changing work demands.
You will be able to demonstrate a good level of health and safety awareness and the ability to apply safe working practices.
Ideally you will have a First Aid at Work certificate, or be willing to undertake this qualification.

Competitive salary of £27,950.25
Shift pattern of the revised hours are as below on an alternating pattern of 1-week early shift then 1-week late shift.
Early Shift Mon, Tues, Wed & Thurs 06:00 – 14:00 (30 min break)Friday 07:00 – 14:30 (30 min break)
Late Shift Monday 10:30 – 18:30 (30 min break)Tuesday & Wednesday 13:30 – 21:30 (30 min break)Thursday (normal) 10:30 – 18:30 (30 min break)Thursday (events) 12:00 – 20:00 (30 min break)Friday 09:30 – 17:00 (30 min break)Excellent pension package as per the Cheshire Pension scheme
