Site Assistant required for a public sector education organisation based in Macclesfield.

Your new company

Your new job role is working is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and professional Estates team as a Site Assistant with responsibility as a key holder. You will be working within a small friendly estates team for a further education establishment based within the Macclesfield area.

Your new role

  • Carrying out planned maintenance and repair work on College grounds and buildings.

  • To be responsible for ensuring that site management, safety and security is maintained at all times.

  • To carry out car park attending on open and closing hours of the building.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Full UK Driving License

  • Experience of basic maintenance and general repair work along with manual handling techniques is essential.
  • Industry experience in a relevant trade would be advantageous
  • Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS

  • Referencing covering the past 5 years

  • Worked within public sector organisation (preferred)

  • Shift work and some evening work is required, alongside occasional weekends

  • With a ‘flexible can do’ approach to your work, you will have good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be an excellent team player as well as have the ability to work under pressure using your own initiative when responding to the Estate department's changing work demands.

  • You will be able to demonstrate a good level of health and safety awareness and the ability to apply safe working practices.

  • Ideally you will have a First Aid at Work certificate, or be willing to undertake this qualification.

  • Experience of basic maintenance and general repair work along with manual handling techniques is essential.

  • Industry experience in a relevant trade would be advantageous

  • Shift pattern of the revised hours are as below on an alternating pattern of 1-week early shift then 1-week late shift.
    Early Shift Mon, Tues, Wed & Thurs 06:00 – 14:00 (30 min break)Friday 07:00 – 14:30 (30 min break)
    Late Shift Monday 10:30 – 18:30 (30 min break)Tuesday & Wednesday 13:30 – 21:30 (30 min break)Thursday (normal) 10:30 – 18:30 (30 min break)Thursday (events) 12:00 – 20:00 (30 min break)Friday 09:30 – 17:00 (30 min break)
