Your new role

As a Locum Social Worker within the Permanence Team, you will manage a caseload of children with plans for long-term fostering, adoption, or special guardianship. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking assessments and developing care plans
  • Preparing reports for court proceedings and permanency panels
  • Liaising with foster carers, adopters, and multi-agency professionals
  • Ensuring each child’s voice is heard and their needs are met throughout their journey to permanence

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/Diploma)
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Experience in children’s social care, ideally within a permanence or long-term care setting
  • Strong assessment, communication, and report-writing skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
