Coventry City Council is seeking a Team Manager for their Children in Care team, paying £41.42 ph

Your new company

Coventry City Council is seeking an experienced and passionate Team Manager to join our Children We Care For Service. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team of Social Workers and Family Support Workers, ensuring children and young people receive the highest quality care and support.

Your new role

You will play a key role in care planning, safeguarding, and achieving permanence for children in care, while driving operational improvements and fostering a learning culture within your team.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead and manage a team of social work professionals.
  • Ensure robust care planning and positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Work collaboratively with partners to develop services and influence practice.
  • Promote a supportive environment where staff can thrive and develop.
  • Maintain manageable caseloads to deliver the best possible service.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant management experience in children’s social care.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice.
  • Excellent communication skills to build relationships with families and partners.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Experience in safeguarding and care planning for children in care.
