CAD Technician

Hays are working in partnership with an established engineering company in Northern Ireland. They are currently hiring a CAD Technician to join their team of 200 employees and are still expanding.
They have been supplying materials globally but the main clients are based in Europe. Some of their notable projects are stadiums, bridges, highways, roads and marine. This company is committed to delivering exceptional quality service to their clients.
Your new role
An opportunity has arisen for a CAD Technician to work in a variety of tasks, including designing and drafting plans, conducting surveys, and collaborating with other engineers.
Responsibilities of a Civil Engineering Technician:
- Providing technical support to engineers on construction projects.
- Preparing road and drainage design packages and general arrangement drawings for civil engineering projects.
- Assist with topographical surveys on sites as required, to help aid the design phases.
- Liaise with senior designers and other stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
To qualify for CAD Technician role, you must have a minimum of HNC / HND Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent) with experience in civil and structural engineering. Candidates with no HNC or HND qualification would still be eligible to apply provided they have 5 years’ experience working in Civil or Structural Engineering Company.
In addition to the technical qualifications, you must possess good oral and written communication skills, be a team player, have excellent organisational skills and initiative in problem-solving. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about civil engineering and has experience with the software packages.
