Technical Buyer | Engineering | Coleford, Gloucestershire | 1 day WFH per week

Your new company

We are currently supporting an engineering and manufacturing organisation to recruit two Technical Buyers after internal promotions. With a strong focus on innovation, quality, and operational efficiency, this company offers a dynamic environment where procurement plays a strategic role in driving performance and value.


Your new role

As a Technical Buyer, you’ll be responsible for both tactical and strategic procurement activities. You’ll manage day-to-day purchasing operations in SAP, ensuring continuity of supply, while also contributing to long-term sourcing strategies, supplier development, and cost-saving initiatives. Working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams, you’ll interpret technical drawings, support new product introductions, and lead supplier negotiations to deliver value and performance.


What you'll need to succeed

  • 3–6 years’ experience in a procurement role within a manufacturing or engineering setting

  • Strong understanding of technical components, engineering drawings, and manufacturing processes

  • Proficiency in SAP (MM or P2P modules) with excellent data accuracy

  • Proven ability to manage both operational tasks and strategic sourcing projects

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and supplier relationship management skills

  • A proactive, analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

  • CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable
