Permanent - Site Agent - Highways - Norwich

Your new company

Operating both in the UK and across the world, they are a leading contractor delivering projects across multiple sectors including; real estate, defence, education, highways, rail and water.

Your new role

You will join one of the leading highway development projects in the Norfolk area. You will be part of an ever-expanding team including Project managers and Site Engineers.

Your duties will include:
  • Supervise, mentor, and train the site team to ensure they perform their duties effectively and grow in their roles.
  • Provide regular guidance and support to direct reports, contributing to their annual goal-setting and tracking their development progress throughout the year.
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration across engineers, supervisors, enabling functions, designers, and client representatives to ensure alignment and smooth project delivery.
  • Coordinate with supply chain partners early in the process to develop practical, buildable design solutions that minimise the need for changes during construction.
  • Proactively identify and raise construction-related issues within the delivery team.
  • Escalate concerns appropriately to ensure timely and effective resolution, maintaining project momentum

What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field, or an HND in Civil Engineering complemented by relevant vocational training.

  • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles and widely used construction methodologies.

  • Practical understanding of temporary works, including their design, implementation, and management.

  • Familiarity with construction contract frameworks, particularly ECC NEC4, is supported by both formal training and hands-on experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders across technical and non-technical backgrounds.
