Your new role

As Buyer, you’ll take on a key position at the heart of the company’s operational delivery. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that materials, equipment, and external services are sourced efficiently, cost effectively, and in line with business requirements. Working closely with operations managers, onsite teams, finance, and a broad supplier network, you’ll coordinate procurement activity to support project schedules and budget commitments. Your responsibilities will include raising and approving orders, maintaining procurement records, managing supplier performance, and ensuring compliance with company standards.

This role is ideal for someone analytical and commercially sharp — someone who enjoys negotiating, identifying the best market options, and keeping projects running smoothly through effective purchasing decisions.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience working in a procurement, buying, or purchasing role
  • Understanding of building materials, equipment and supply chain processes
  • Awareness of health and safety standards
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and procurement platforms
  • Ability to manage procurement requirements across multiple ongoing projects
  • Good grasp of budgeting, cost control and financial analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to operational sites when required
  • Confident negotiation abilities with evidence of achieving competitive pricing
