Senior Buyer | Indirects | £50k | Central Bristol | Hybrid

Your new company

I'm currently partnered with a leading business in Central Bristol who are going through a period of expansion. Due to this growth, they are now looking to recruit a Senior Buyer to join the business to work with the Procurement Lead to run high value procurements across indirect categories (FM, Estates, Professional Services etc.)


Your new role

In this role, you'll support end-to-end procurement across a variety of indirect categories, manage contract negotiation, vendor onboarding and supplier relationships.


You'll work closely with budget holders in this role to help define sourcing strategies, routes to market and ensure a value for money approach is taken.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage the vendor onboarding process, with a focus on risk mitigation and cost savings, whilst ensuring compliance with ethical and ESG standards
  • Conduct market research and supplier evaluation in accordance with procurement policies and best practice
  • Work with the Procurement Lead to negotiate strategic tenders across indirect categories like FM, Estates, Professional Services and IT
  • Collaborate with budget holders to define requirements and strategies
  • Prepare and issue bid invitations and tenders
  • Work closely with the wider procurement and legal team to draft contracts at negotiation stages
  • Foster and maintain supplier relationships via scorecards, KPIs and business reviews
  • Utilise systems to analyse and interpret spending data to make informed spending decisions

What you'll need to succeed

  • CIPS Level 4 and above or equivalent working experience
  • Previous experience leading indirect procurements
  • Strong analytical and data driven mindset, comfortable working with a variety of tools and systems
  • The ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
  • Excellent administrative skills
