6 month Temporary Buyer role for a Manufacturing Business based in Farnborough
Are you an organised and proactive buyer with strong experience in transactional purchasing? Our client, a leading heavy manufacturing business, is looking for a buyer to join their fast‑paced procurement team. This is a key operational role with a strong focus on managing purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring materials arrive on time to support production.
The Role
As buyer, you will play a central role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials into the business. You’ll manage day‑to‑day purchasing activity, process and expedite POs, and support efficient production by keeping the supply chain moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise, process and manage high volumes of purchase orders
- Monitor and expedite open POs to ensure timely delivery
- Maintain accurate procurement data and supplier records
- Work closely with production, engineering and planning teams to understand material requirements
- Resolve day‑to‑day supply issues, delivery delays and order discrepancies
- Support supplier performance monitoring and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with procurement processes and internal controls
About You
- Experience in a Buyer, Purchasing Assistant or Procurement Administrator role
- Strong background in transactional purchasing and PO management
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing or engineering environment
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and Excel
