Buyer | Lincoln | £35-42,000
There’s something quietly powerful about the role a great Buyer plays in a manufacturing environment. It’s not just about placing orders or keeping stock flowing, it’s about shaping the strength, resilience and competitiveness of the business through the relationships you build and the decisions you make. This is one of those roles.
I’m working with a well-established manufacturing business that takes real pride in what it produces and the people behind it. It’s a setting where ideas are encouraged, where expertise is valued, and where procurement is seen as a strategic lever rather than a back-office function. As part of that journey, they are looking to bring in a Buyer who can step into a more strategic space, someone comfortable looking beyond the immediate transaction and thinking about the bigger picture.
In this role, you’ll find yourself at the heart of supplier sourcing, negotiation and contract management. You’ll take ownership of key spend areas, building a supplier base that is not only commercially competitive but also reliable, forward-thinking and aligned with the business’s long-term goals. Whether it’s identifying new partners, renegotiating existing agreements, or putting frameworks in place that stand the test of time, your work will have a visible and lasting impact.
What makes this opportunity particularly appealing is the balance it offers. You won’t be removed from the operational rhythm of the business, you’ll still be close enough to understand the day-to-day realities of production, but you’ll also be trusted to step up and influence strategy, cost optimisation and risk management across your categories. It’s a role that gives you both responsibility and room to grow.
You’ll suit this position if you’re someone who enjoys the art of negotiation, who takes a curious interest in how supply markets move, and who values relationships just as much as results. Perhaps you’re already operating at this level and looking for a role with more scope and autonomy, or maybe you’ve had a taste of strategic procurement and are ready to lean into it more fully.
In return, you’ll find a supportive and down-to-earth team, a business that invests in its people, and leadership that understands the value of procurement done well. The salary on offer sits between £35,000 and £42,000, alongside a wider package that reflects the importance of the role.
If you’ve been looking for a position where you can genuinely influence outcomes rather than simply follow process, this could be the one that feels like the right next step.
