Full time permanent Learning and Development Manager in Barnstaple

Your new company

We are seeking an experienced Learning and Development (L&D) Manager to design, implement, and oversee training and development strategies that enhance workforce capability and support business growth. This is a pivotal role in shaping the skills and culture of our team, ensuring compliance with industry standards and fostering continuous improvement.

Full time permanent role.
Paying between £45k - £50k depending on experience.
3 days on site minimum. 2 days from home.

Your new role

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify training needs across all levels, including technical, compliance, and leadership development.
  • Design and implement training programs (in-house and external) for scaffolding safety, management skills, and professional development.
  • Manage apprenticeship programs and liaise with training providers.
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, ensuring ROI and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support managers in coaching and performance development initiatives.
  • Drive a culture of learning and professional growth across the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in an L&D role, ideally within construction or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of training frameworks, compliance standards, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to design engaging training content and deliver sessions effectively.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship schemes and vocational qualifications.
