Business Development Manager, Hotel Supplies, £45,000 (£60,000 OTE), Reading, Hybrid-Working, Immediate Start!

Our client, an industry leader in Hospitality Supplies, are looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager, ideally with contacts within the industry, to join their client-facing operation. Working on a hybrid basis (2 days in the office with 3 days working from home/meeting with clients), this is an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate!

Our client have been established for over 40 years, and boast the world's top hotel chains as their clients - they operate in over 100 countries and have served over 25,00 customers, and are a global superpower in their field. Due to their continued success, they are actively seeking the perfect candidate to focus on generating new business across the UK (with, ideally, a particular focus across London) - in a nutshell, your responsibilities will include:

- Actively identifying/pursuing/securing new business opportunities with Hotels across the UK (targeted outreach/industry networking/trade shows/account mapping)
- Proactively prospecting new clients, in addition to building relationships with existing clients (to diversify spend)
- Generating a healthy sales pipeline, and managing the full sales cycle - converting opportunities into sustainable revenue growth
- Utilising market data, tools, and insights to uncover new business opportunities and prioritise high-value targets
- Building and nurturing long-term relationships with key decision-makers within regional accounts, independent hotels, and strategic partners
- Conducting regular engagement activities (calls/meetings/site visits/presentations) to strengthen relationships and identify new business needs
- Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure smooth onboarding of new accounts and ongoing customer satisfaction
- Leading the full sales cycle from initial contact to signed contract, including presentations, proposals, negotiation, and closing
- Achieving assigned annual sales targets and KPIs, with clear accountability for new contract acquisition and revenue growth
- Developing tailored commercial solutions that meet customer needs while maximising business value
- Continuously monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments within the UK & Ireland hospitality landscape
- Sharing customer feedback and market insights to support regional strategic planning
- Preparing and submitting regular reports on pipeline status, sales performance, and activity progress

In order to be considered for this position, it is ESSENTIAL that you have the following:

- 5–10 years of relevant sales or business development experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Strong understanding of the UK & Ireland hospitality market with an established professional network
- Experience of working with a CRM (and ability to pick up systems quickly)
- Strong hunter mindset with proven ability to prospect and win new business
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong negotiation and closing capabilities
- Strategic thinking with strong planning and execution skills
- Ability to work independently in a multi-tasking and high-pressure environment
- High energy with a strong customer-centric mindset
- Full, clean UK driving licence (and own car!)
- Fun, sociable personality!

In addition to a very competitive basic salary of £40,000, our client are also offering the following:

- £55,000 - £60,000 OTE (commission scheme explained in interview process)
- 5% annual bonus (based on both individual and company performance - external to separate commission scheme)
- £5,000 car allowance (all business travel paid for)
- Hybrid-working policy (2 days on site/remainder working from home or meeting with clients - total accountability for own diary)
