Business Analyst – Markets, Payments & Operations (Contract)
Location: Belfast. 3 Days on site per week.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and delivery-focused Business Analyst to join our transformation team. This role is ideal for professionals with a background in markets, payments, or operations, who are passionate about solving complex problems using data and driving meaningful change across global financial services environments.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the analysis of large, complex data sets to identify root causes, process inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business and technology to define and document clear, strategic requirements supported by business cases and KPIs.
- Manage and track assigned initiatives, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and timelines.
- Act as a subject-matter expert (SME) in operational processes, payments flows, or market infrastructure, providing insights and guidance to senior stakeholders.
- Support the full project lifecycle including testing, operational readiness, and change adoption.
- Drive simplification and standardisation of processes, controls, and data flows across global teams.
- Communicate status, risks, and issues effectively to sponsors and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Champion adherence to program governance, methods, and standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within markets, payments, or operations in a large financial institution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of working with large data sets to uncover insights and drive decisions.
- Experience in root cause analysis, process mapping, and identifying operational challenges.
- Proficiency in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA, Confluence, and data visualisation platforms.
- Excellent communication skills – able to translate complex technical and business concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and facilitating cross-functional working groups.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in transformation or change programs within financial services is a plus.
