Mid-Junior Business Analyst (Transaction reporting), Belfast, 12-month contract, up to £273 p/d

I am working with a global financial client in the recruitment of a mid-junior BA (business analyst) to join their data and regulatory operations group. Due to a restructuring in the team, the company has an opening for a business analyst to come into the team at a more mid-junior level.
As a Business Analyst, you will oversee key controls and processes to ensure high‑quality regulatory reporting for the firm and its clients. The role involves reviewing reporting exceptions across multiple regulators, collaborating closely with Operations, Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit and the business, and supporting strong governance. You will be working with teams in Belfast and London to identify issues and propose solutions through detailed analysis of data.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Support implementation, monitoring and testing of reporting data and exceptions to strengthen controls ensuring complete, accurate and timely reporting.
  • Verify ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor key regulatory processes within the Belfast Reporting Team and help identify, analyse and remediate failed controls, including supporting UAT and remediation activities.
  • Collaborate closely with Regulatory Operations, Technology and business stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and proactive exception management.
  • Partner with Reg Ops Change Management and QA to ensure issues are fully documented, tested, resolved and supported by appropriate sign‑offs and audit trails.
  • Liaise extensively with internal teams—Business Units, IT, other Reg Ops functions and Compliance—to build and maintain effective partnerships.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills/experience:
  • At least 2 years working as a business analyst in an enterprise environment
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel to manage data sets
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of BA principles
  • Knowledge of banking operations preferred but not essential.

This role will be 5 days working on-site in Belfast. Only candidates with the ability to fulfil this will be considered.
