We have an excellent contract job opportunity for Business Analyst
About The Role
We are looking for experienced, bread and butter Business Analysts who bring rigour, structure, and discipline to requirements gathering and analysis. This is not a role for someone who wants to operate at 30,000 feet. We need analysts who roll up their sleeves, sit with stakeholders, run workshops, and produce clear, well-structured, testable requirements that delivery teams can build against with confidence.
You will be embedded within one or more project workstreams within the Cyber Uplift Programme, working closely with Delivery Leads, technical teams, and business stakeholders across multiple operating companies. You must be comfortable commanding a room, facilitating workshops, and challenging vague or conflicting requirements until you reach clarity.
Political savviness matters. You will be operating across different business units with different priorities and personalities. The ability to build relationships, navigate complexity, and present information clearly to senior stakeholders is essential.
Contract – 6 months (possibility to extend)
Location – Waterside (UB7 0GB)
Hybrid – 1–2 days per week onsite
Pay – attractive daily rate (Inside IR35)
Key Responsibilities
- Own requirements end to end, from discovery and elicitation through to sign off and acceptance
- Engage business, cyber, and technical stakeholders to capture accurate, complete requirements
- Write clear, structured, segmented, and testable requirements that follow proper due diligence and can withstand scrutiny.
- Ensure all requirements are peer-reviewed with other Business Analysts on the programme before sign off.
- Maintain full requirements for traceability from discovery through to delivered outcomes.
- Provide clear mapping of as-is and-to-be solutions, ensuring the delta is well understood
- Work with Product Owners and stakeholders to understand the current situation, pain points, and metrics for improvement.
- Plan, facilitate, and lead workshops, interviews, and working sessions, commanding the room and driving outcomes.
- Support UAT planning, scenario definition, and execution, ensuring acceptance criteria are clear and traceable
- Contribute to governance artefacts, design sign-offs, and stage gate reviews
- Act as the bridge between delivery teams and business stakeholders, translating business needs into clear technical and functional deliverables.
- Break down complex problems into clear, actionable, and prioritised requirements
- Prioritise requirements in line with delivery plans and risk reduction objectives
- Maintain requirements change control, ensuring scope changes are documented, assessed, and approved
- Support backlog creation, refinement, and prioritisation
- Work closely with Delivery Leads to shape scope, sequencing, and delivery approach.
- Support defect triage by clarifying intent and acceptance criteria
- Document all decisions, assumptions, and constraints clearly and accessibly
Skills And Experience
- Proven track record as a Business Analyst on large scale technology, security, or infrastructure delivery programmes
- Strong, demonstrable requirements gathering and documentation skills. Structured, segmented, testable, and signed off
- Experience facilitating workshops and working sessions with senior stakeholders. Able to command a room and drive to outcomes
- Comfortable operating across multiple business units or operating companies within a group or federated structure
- Ability to navigate politically complex environments and build trusted relationships quickly
- Experience presenting analysis and requirements to senior leadership where needed
- Strong understanding of requirements traceability, change control, and proper due diligence in requirements management
- Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and standard BA tooling
- Experience working within structured delivery frameworks and governance models
- Experience in Privileged Access Management (PAM) or Customer Authentication (complex front end and back end integration) is highly advantageous.
- Experience in cybersecurity or identity related programmes is a strong plus.
Behaviours We Value
- Curious and thorough. Digs into the detail and does not accept vague answers.
- Asks the right questions early. Surfaces ambiguity and gaps before they become delivery blockers
- Clear communicator. Writes well, speaks with confidence, and adapts to the audience
- Comfortable challenging conflicting or incomplete requirements until clarity is reached
- Politically aware. Understands organisational dynamics and navigates them effectively
- Collaborative. Works well with Delivery Leads, technical teams, and business stakeholders alike.
What Good Looks Like
- Requirements are clear, structured, prioritised, and formally signed off before build begins.
- Stakeholders feel heard, understood, and confident that their needs have been accurately captured.
- Full traceability exists from discovery through to delivered outcomes. Nothing falls through the cracks
- Delivery teams know exactly what success looks like and can build against requirements with confidence.
- Workshops are well planned, well facilitated, and produce actionable outputs.
- Documentation is thorough, accessible, and stands up to scrutiny at any point in the delivery lifecycle.
