Building Surveyor (Fire Safety)

About the Company
A well‑established, multi‑award‑winning construction consultancy with over 40 years of industry success is expanding its Building Surveying team. Known for delivering high‑quality, multi‑disciplinary services across both the private and public sectors, the business has built a reputation for technical excellence, innovation, and a genuinely supportive working culture.
With sustained project wins and continued growth, they are now seeking a Building Surveyor at either newly qualified, qualified (MRICS), or Senior level to join their dynamic and collaborative team.
The Opportunity
You’ll become part of a department with a strong and growing focus on fire safety, building standards, and regulatory compliance. While prior fire safety experience is not essential, any exposure to the Building Safety Act (BSA) or Building Safety Regulator (BSR) frameworks will be highly advantageous.

This is an excellent role for someone looking to deepen their technical expertise, gain exposure to high‑profile projects, and progress within a consultancy that invests heavily in its people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a broad range of Building Surveying services across multiple sectors
  • Support or lead (depending on level) on fire safety and building standards projects
  • Undertake condition surveys, defect analysis, technical due diligence, and planned maintenance programmes
  • Prepare specifications, schedules of work, and contract administration duties
  • Provide professional advice to clients on compliance, building pathology, and project delivery
  • Collaborate with internal multi‑disciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of junior team members (for Senior level)
About You
  • Newly qualified, soon‑to‑be qualified, or fully qualified MRICS Building Surveyor
  • Strong technical grounding in core Building Surveying competencies
  • Interest in fire safety, building standards, and evolving regulatory frameworks
  • Knowledge of the BSA or BSR is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach
  • Motivated, proactive, and keen to develop within a supportive environment
Why Join This Consultancy?
  • A 40+ year legacy of excellence and stability
  • Multi‑award-winning business with a strong industry reputation
  • Genuine commitment to employee development, supported by a market‑leading learning & development platform
  • Proven track record of career progression, retention, and internal promotion
  • A hybrid working model offering flexibility and work–life balance
  • Highly attractive benefits package, including professional development support
  • Collaborative, inclusive, and people‑focused culture
