Associate Building Surveyor Role | Glasgow Consultancy

Lead, Shape & Grow – A Unique Opportunity for a Building Surveyor

Looking for a role where you can make a real impact, shape the future of a respected consultant, and step into leadership? This is your chance to join a long-established firm entering an exciting new chapter — with modern offices, a strategic partnership, and a clear vision for growth.

What’s in It for You?

  • Key leadership role in a business with a strong legacy and fresh direction
  • Competitive salary & benefits (up to £70,000 total package)
  • Flexible working environment with autonomy and trust
  • Opportunity to mentor and develop junior talent
  • Exposure to strategic business development
  • Diverse commercial projects including retrofit and sustainability
  • Potential to take on Principal Designer responsibilities

About the Company

This respected property and construction consultancy has been delivering expert building surveying, cost consultancy, and principal design services across the UK for decades. In late 2024, they partnered with an award-winning principal contractor specialising in retrofit and sustainability – a move that’s opened new doors while preserving their independent consultancy model.

Now operating from modern offices in South Lanarkshire and preparing to launch a refreshed website, the business is entering a new phase of innovation and strategic growth. With the founding directors approaching retirement, they’re looking for fresh talent to help shape the next chapter.

The Role

As a Building Surveyor, you’ll play a central role in leading and developing the surveying function. You’ll work on a variety of commercial projects, support retrofit initiatives, and contribute to the strategic direction of the business.

You’ll also mentor junior surveyors and collaborate closely with clients and contractors, working alongside a small, dedicated team:
  • A Managing Director with 20+ years at the firm
  • A graduate surveyor working towards APC
  • A trainee surveyor currently studying at college
This is a hands-on role with real influence – perfect for someone ready to step into leadership while staying close to the technical work.

What You’ll Bring

  • MRICS qualification (or close to sitting APC)
  • Proven experience in building surveying, ideally in commercial sectors
  • Strong technical and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and support junior staff
  • Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset
