Your new role

We are seeking a qualified MRICS Building Surveyor to join our dynamic team in either the Kendal or Carlisle office. The successful candidate will undertake a broad range of commercial building surveys and project work, alongside residential Level 2 (HomeBuyer) and Level 3 (Building Survey) reports. This is a client-facing role requiring technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Work
  • Conduct pre-acquisition building surveys for commercial properties.
  • Prepare and manage schedules of condition and dilapidations.
  • Deliver project management services including contract administration and specification writing.
  • Advise clients on property maintenance, refurbishment, and compliance matters.
  • Liaise with landlords, tenants, and legal professionals regarding lease obligations.
Residential Work
  • Carry out Level 2 HomeBuyer Reports and Level 3 Building Surveys in line with RICS standards.
  • Provide clear and concise advice to homeowners and buyers.
  • Identify defects, assess risks, and recommend remedial actions.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and professional integrity.

What you'll need to succeed

  • MRICS qualified
  • Proven experience in both commercial and residential surveying in a consultancy setting
  • Strong knowledge of building pathology, construction methods, and property legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
