Graduate Building Services Design Engineer
Location: Cambridge City Centre
Salary: £28,000 – £38,000 (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Graduate Building Services Design Engineer to join a well‑established consultancy based in the heart of Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate—or someone with up to two years of industry experience—to develop their career within a supportive and forward‑thinking design team.
You will work on a variety of projects across commercial, residential, education, and mixed‑use sectors, contributing to the design and delivery of innovative, sustainable building services solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of mechanical and/or electrical building services systems
- Produce technical drawings, calculations, and specifications
- Support senior engineers with project delivery from concept through to completion
- Carry out site visits, surveys, and inspections
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
- Contribute to sustainable and energy‑efficient design strategies
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices
Requirements
- Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong interest in building services design and sustainability
- Good understanding of engineering principles and design processes
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) is beneficial.
