SQL Developer (6 month contract)

Bradford 3 days + 2 days home working

£400 - £500 per day

Your new role

You will be responsible for building and maintaining high-quality SQL objects, ensuring robust and efficient data pipelines, and supporting the integrity, consistency and accessibility of product, customer and vendor data across all systems.

A solid background in SQL Server development, data warehousing concepts and data modelling is required. Experience with tools such as Alteryx and Tableau is highly valued to support data transformation initiatives.

The role requires strong autonomy, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a data driven environment.

Experience needed

Design, develop, and optimize SQL Server objects including views, stored procedures, functions, and ETL staging layers

Maintain and enhance the enterprise data warehouse structure, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability

Support and contribute to MDM initiatives, including data model design, domain logic, and data quality rules

Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to validate business logic, improve data flows and align technical solutions with business processes

Develop and maintain ETL workflows (SQL based or via tools such as Alteryx) to integrate data from multiple systems

Create and maintain BI datasets or extracts required by reporting tools such as Tableau

Produce and maintain clear, up to date technical documentation for data models, processes and integrations

Ensure compliance with internal data governance and regulatory requirements

Troubleshoot and resolve data, performance, and integration issues in cooperation with IT and business teams

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives on data pipelines, quality, and delivery processes

Experience needed

Advanced SQL Server development (stored procedures, query optimization, indexing strategies, tuning techniques)

Strong understanding of data warehouse principles and dimensional modelling

Experience working with MDM data structures and concepts

Knowledge of ETL tools (Alteryx preferred) for data preparation, integration and automation

Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau

Ability to design efficient data models to support analytical and reporting workloads

Understanding of SAP or similar ERP data structures is a strong advantage

Experience with batch scheduling, workflow orchestration, and performance monitoring tools

Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities and delivery high quality output within deadlines

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Problem solving abilities and strong attention to detail, particularly in identifying and resolving data quality issues

Collaborative mindset and experience working in cross-functional, international teams
