Development Engineer, NPD, R&D Department

Your New Company
This is a unique opportunity to join a global leader in smart and sustainable load-handling solutions. As part of a pioneering R&D team, you’ll contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies that help keep everyday life moving. The company is committed to delivering the best customer experience through intelligent services, digital solutions, and a passionate, engaged workforce.

Your New Role
As a Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the testing and development of new technologies, systems, machines, attachments, and components within the R&D department. You will work closely with New Product Development (NPD) teams to ensure that products meet design specifications through rigorous validation testing. Your role will involve developing and overseeing test procedures, analysing performance data, and contributing to design improvements. You will also be responsible for compliance testing, supporting technology development discussions, and enhancing the test facilities to verify product durability and functionality. This is a hands-on role that will see you working in office, workshop, and field environments.

What You Will Need to Succeed
To succeed in this role, you should hold a Level 7 or higher qualification in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering and have at least five years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field. A thorough understanding of mobile equipment—particularly material handling—is essential, along with knowledge of engine, drivetrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems. You should be comfortable using data recording equipment for parameters such as pressure, temperature, and CAN signal. Strong communication skills and the ability to work across departments, with customers and suppliers, are key. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace tools is also beneficial.

What You Will Get in Return
In return, you will join a forward-thinking, global organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You’ll have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that contribute to the development of world-class products, while gaining valuable experience in a supportive and dynamic R&D environment. The company offers excellent opportunities for learning, development, and long-term career progression, along with a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
