Head of Operations (International Bank)
Your new role
An established UK-regulated financial institution is seeking a highly experienced Head of Operations to lead its operational, technology, and resilience functions. This is a senior executive role, reporting into the C-suite, with accountability for ensuring safe, efficient, resilient and customer-centric operational delivery across the organisation.
The role will oversee core operational areas including:
- Information Technology & Infrastructure
- Cybersecurity & Technology Risk
- Payments Operations
- Customer & Back-Office Operations
- Outsourcing & Supplier Oversight
- Operational Resilience & Business Continuity
- Fraud Operations
- Regulatory Operational Compliance
This is a strategic and hands-on position, suitable for a senior leader who thrives in a regulated, transformation-focused environment.
What you'll need to succeed
- Extensive senior‑level operations leadership experience within a UK bank, building society, or FCA-regulated financial institution.
- Deep understanding of UK banking operations: payments, KYC/onboarding, fraud, reconciliations, customer servicing, and complaints handling.
- Strong regulatory knowledge (FCA Handbook, PRA rulebook, Operational Resilience, Consumer Duty, SYSC).
- Proven expertise in designing, scaling and optimising operational models.
- Experience managing outsourced providers and complex supplier relationships.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence at Board and regulatory level.
- Demonstrated experience leading technology change and digital operations.
- Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and people‑leadership capabilities.
