Your new role
As an Electrical Associate, you will take a leadership role within the electrical team, managing project delivery, overseeing design quality, and acting as a key technical authority across a diverse portfolio. You’ll work closely with Directors, clients, architects, and wider MEP teams to deliver innovative, sustainable electrical solutions from concept through to handover.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading electrical building services design across large‑scale commercial, residential, mixed‑use, and mission‑critical projects
- Managing project teams and providing technical oversight, guidance, and mentoring
- Reviewing and signing off designs, calculations, and technical documentation
- Acting as a key client liaison, attending design meetings and representing the practice at senior level
- Contributing to bids, fee proposals, resource planning, and internal development
- Supporting digital engineering workflows, including BIM/Revit integration
- Driving continuous improvement, best practice, and innovation within the team
What you'll need to succeed
- Extensive experience within electrical building services engineering, ideally operating at Senior/Principal/Associate level
- Strong technical capability across LV distribution, lighting, life‑safety systems, power, and control systems
- Proven experience delivering multi‑sector projects through all RIBA stages
- Ability to lead teams, manage client relationships, and oversee project performance
- Strong understanding of UK standards, regulations, and industry guidance (CIBSE, BS7671, etc.)
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project‑management skills
