Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Commercial

The company delivers high-quality projects across a variety of sectors including education, healthcare, heritage, residential, and commercial, with contract values typically ranging from £1M to £20M. They are committed to excellence, client satisfaction and long-term professional development.

Your new role

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support senior surveyors throughout the full project lifecycle—from pre-construction through to completion. Your responsibilities will include assisting with cost management, subcontractor accounts, pricing analysis, and monthly financial reporting. The role is based either in the office or on-site, with projects located primarily within the M25 area.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A qualification in Quantity Surveying (HNC or higher) or a related discipline

  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills

  • Ability to assist throughout the full duration of construction projects, from pre-construction activities to final execution

  • Develop a solid understanding of assigned contracts, specifications, and pricing structures to ensure compliance with contractual obligations

  • Conduct site visits and assist with the measurement and valuation of subcontractor works

  • Provide commercial support on active construction projects or those in the pre-construction phase
