Senior Quantity Surveyor - Permanent - Leicester - Established Contractor - Multi-Sector - Civil Engineering

Your new company

You will be joining an established civil engineering contractor based in Leicester. This multi-accredited and high-profile organisation has a strong reputation for delivering infrastructure projects across the Midlands region within the highways and public realm sectors and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Due to continued success, they are looking to onboard a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Leicester office with the option for hybrid and flexible working.

Your new role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing all costs relating to projects from initial calculations to final figures
  • Assisting in the preparation of tenders and contract documents, including bills of quantities
  • Monitoring and controlling project costs against the project budget
  • Reviewing and advising on contractual claims and variations
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Providing support and mentoring junior members of the team.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful, you must have:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the civil engineering industry
  • Sound knowledge of NEC forms of contract
  • Experience in managing and controlling project costs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full UK driving licence.
