A leading Kent based civil contractor seeks an experienced estimator with a strong track record to join their commercial team. With a 9 figure group turnover and long history in the sector, they offer stability and reputation in a changing market. Due to a strategic change, a new role has been created for a senior estimator to work within the public realms/highways team. Working within a commercial team of 6, you will be a key member of the team reporting to the commercial director closely.

Your new role

You will be the lead estimator responsible for building up prices for all incoming tenders. Working closely with a commercial director, you will assess the value of each opportunity and lead the tender submission. Working with a mixture of tender portals, traditional enquiries, negotiated tenders and framework agreements you will be responsible for multiple tenders weekly. Tenders vary but are typically in the 50k - £2mill range and focussed on 278 works, hard landscaping & larger public realms schemes. Clients include some of the country's largest tier contractors thru to local authorities and housing associations. Tenders will be built up based on direct labour predominantly with some subcontractor input.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced estimator working within the civil / groundwork / infrastructure or construction sectors and be comfortable using Bluebeam software and pricing tenders from drawings/tender documentation. You will be comfortable working under your own supervision and have priced on a direct labour basis previously. This is a permanent long term role based in North Kent - available on a PAYE basis only.
