Quantity Surveyor – Permanent – Established Contractor – Cardiff – Welsh Water AMP8/AMP9 Framework – Civils

You will be joining a highly respected and well-established civil engineering contractor based in Cardiff operating within the water industry. This multi-accredited contractor has a strong pipeline of work directly with Welsh Water as part of their AMP8/AMP9 programme and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Their commitment to delivering an exceptional standard of work has positioned them as a leader in the industry and, as part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Cardiff office with hybrid working.
Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in the commercial management of water infrastructure projects, ensuring work is delivered efficiently, safely and within budget.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting measurements and valuations
- Preparing and negotiating interim valuations and final accounts
- Monitoring and reviewing the financial performance of contracts
- Providing project performance reports to senior management
- Communicating with clients regarding project performance
- Ensuring timely customer payments within contract terms
- Procuring subcontractors and managing subcontractor accounts
- Pricing projects before contract agreement.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:
- Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalent
- Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within heavy civils (water, highways, rail, renewables or utilities industries)
- Sound working knowledge of NEC form of contract
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Strong commitment to safety
- Full UK driving licence.
