Your new role

As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in supporting a diverse portfolio of clients while helping to drive the continued success of the practice. Working closely with senior leadership, you will review accounts and tax work, strengthen client relationships and support the development of more junior team members.

This role would suit an experienced practice accountant looking for greater responsibility and the opportunity to become a trusted advisor to clients.

✅ Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for a portfolio of owner-managed businesses
✅ Reviewing personal and corporate tax returns
✅ Preparing and reviewing VAT returns and Making Tax Digital submissions
✅ Supporting the growth and management of client portfolios
✅ Acting as a key point of contact for clients and building long-term relationships
✅ Supporting Managers on a variety of client projects and advisory work
✅ Reviewing work completed by junior staff and providing guidance
✅ Coaching and mentoring trainees and developing future talent within the firm
✅ Maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge and professional standards


What you'll need to succeed

We are looking to connect with individuals who can demonstrate:

✔ ACA or ACCA qualified, or studying towards qualification
✔ At least 5 years' experience gained within an accountancy practice
✔ Strong accounts preparation and tax compliance experience
✔ Previous experience using Xero and QuickBooks
✔ Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
✔ Experience with IRIS software would be advantageous
✔ Excellent communication and client relationship-building skills
✔ A proactive, commercially aware and solutions-focused mindset
✔ A genuine passion for delivering outstanding client service
