Assistant Management Accountant Opportunity

Location: Nottingham (Hybrid after probation)
Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 per annum
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hays is delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established company based in Nottingham, currently seeking an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join their Client Accounting team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their finance career, supporting senior leadership in delivering high-quality client reporting and driving operational improvements across a diverse property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare bespoke periodic financial reports for clients
  • Manage VAT reporting and funding requests
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and system maintenance
  • Produce cash flow forecasts and variance analysis
  • Liaise with client auditors and attend meetings (virtual or face-to-face)
  • Improve reporting processes through automation and technology
  • Handle onboarding/offboarding of clients and properties
  • Communicate with tenants, surveyors, and clients
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality assurance standards
  • Provide support and problem-solving assistance to the wider team
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required

What You’ll Bring:

  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Experience in client accounting or financial operations (preferred)
  • Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Essential Requirements:

  • Full right to work in the UK – no sponsorship available
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a UK-based accountancy role
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
