Leading Business Services Firm in Kent - Management Accountant - Temporary to Permanent.

Your new company

Our client is a well-established leader in the business services sector, known for delivering excellence and innovation. They are currently seeking a talented and driven Management Accountant to join their finance team on a temporary to permanent basis.

Your new role

As a Management Accountant, your core duties will include:
  • Monthly Reporting:
    • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts
    • Post monthly journal entries, including accruals and prepayments
    • Conduct P&L reviews with variance analysis and commentary in line with group finance policies
  • Balance Sheet & Compliance:
    • Review and reconcile key balance sheet accounts regularly
    • Manage VAT returns and intercompany balances to ensure statutory compliance
  • Audit & Controls:
    • Prepare audit schedules, respond to external audit queries, and provide supporting analysis
    • Partner with the Finance Controller to design and implement robust financial controls and systems
  • Cash & Banking:
    • Oversee daily bank reconciliations
    • Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts for review and submission to Group Finance
  • Asset & Forecast Management:
    • Maintain and manage the fixed asset register
    • Support quarterly forecasting, budgeting, and Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculations
  • Collaboration & Oversight:
    • Work closely with administrative and support teams to meet monthly deadlines
    • Supervise the Accounts Assistant and contribute to team development
What you'll need to succeed

  • Ideally a qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA). Part-qualified or qualified by experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience in management accounting
  • Strong analytical, communication, and IT skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and adapt in a dynamic environment
