Assistant Accountant – £17.06 per hour – Temporary – Ballymena

Your new role
As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Financial Accountant and wider finance team. This temporary position offers exposure to a variety of accounting tasks, including:
- Assisting with preparation of monthly management and statutory accounts
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Preparing monthly and quarterly cash flow forecasts
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Posting general ledger journals
- Carrying out balance sheet and control account reconciliations
- Managing intercompany reconciliations
- Assisting with year-end accounts and audit preparation
- Supporting daily finance operations
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you should have:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a finance department
- 5 GCSEs (A–C) or equivalent, including Maths and English
- Strong Excel skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- A proactive, independent approach with excellent attention to detail
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Desirable:
- Experience with Navision or similar ERP systems
- Exposure to senior management reporting
- Experience in a commercial environment
