Interim Accountant

Your new company
An established Glasgow based business with a long-standing presence in the market is seeking to appoint an Interim Accountant to join its growing team. Operating across a diverse property portfolio, the business offers a stable and friendly working environment where finance plays a key role in supporting commercial decision-making and business performance.

Your new role
This is a broad and hands-on accounting role offering exposure across all aspects of finance within a small but collaborative team. Reporting into senior management, you will take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations for a number of entities, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls and effective cash management.
Your responsibilities will include preparing monthly management information, maintaining rolling cash flow forecasts, performing balance sheet reconciliations, managing invoicing and debtor reporting, monitoring expenditure against budgets, and overseeing payroll and HMRC submissions. You will also work closely with external accountants on statutory reporting, year-end processes, tax compliance and audit-related activities, whilst supporting wider operational and administrative duties across the business.

What you'll need to succeed
  • You will have experience in a broad accounting role, combining both management and financial accounting responsibilities within a small to medium-sized organisation.
  • You will possess strong technical accounting skills, including management reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow forecasting and maintaining robust financial controls.
  • You will be highly proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office, with experience using Xero or a similar accounting package.
  • You will thrive in a hands-on environment, taking ownership of a varied workload and supporting the wider business where required.
  • You will be organised, self-motivated and comfortable managing multiple priorities while building effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll get in return
  • The opportunity to join a well-established and financially stable business with a strong reputation in its sector.
  • A varied and autonomous role with responsibility across the full finance function.
  • Direct exposure to senior stakeholders and involvement in wider commercial and operational activities.
  • A supportive team environment where your experience and input will be valued.
  • A competitive Daily rate depending on experience.
