Financial Accountant job in the outskirts of Glasgow

Your new company
Based on the outskirts of Glasgow, our client is recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an office-based role and the hours of work are Monday–Friday 8.30am -5pm (although there is some flexibility with the start and finish times). The role will ideally suit a part-qualified Accountant and study support can be offered. The organisation can be accessed by local public transport and there is also on-site parking.

Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Controller and working as part of a team, as Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. You’ll take ownership of the month-end close process, prepare weekly and monthly accounts, and ensure compliance with group deadlines.
Responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing purchase & sales ledger
  • Reconciliations
  • Accruals and prepayments and preparation of journals
  • Maintaining fixed asset register
  • Budgeting and forecasting duties
  • Supporting annual accounts, tax packs and budget processes
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors
  • Driving process improvements and maintaining robust financial controls
What you’ll need to succeed
Ideally, you’ll be a part-qualified accountant with strong technical skills and a proactive approach. Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with accounting systems are essential. You will be an ambitious and hardworking team player as there are plenty of opportunities for career development. You’ll demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high attention to detail and organisational skills. You will be a professional communicator who can build relationships across the business.
